All for One and One for All
Using relevant data to align self-interest with the greater good

We complain about “the system” and how unfair it is. Big changes can be frightening, especially without knowing how our “new” world will turn out. We feel powerless to change it alone, even though collectively we are the economy. How do we move from what we don’t want to what we want?

We’ve proved we’ll gather by the millions online to provide our opinion and expertise. Together we have a mass of experience in buying and creating goods and services. We have passions for writing, music, art, gardening, computers, and everything under and beyond the sun. All we really need is a user-friendly system to replace our hype-filled, “buyers beware” marketplace. Imagine an easy way to make good consumer choices, and market goods and services, in a way that serves us both individually and collectively.

We’ve been trending in that direction. User-generated content, ratings and reviews, online banking and accounting, instant access to information, lots of pieces out there that serve us even better when organized into a cohesive whole. Add transparency using reliable, direct data and most buying decisions become safe and simple.

How would transparency change how we consume? Imagine an inclusive network that brings together sellers and buyers to provide a clear, look at the value of almost any purchase. Imagine in one source, a quick and easy way to find a mechanic or a good book, a local band or African art; all filtered to meet your wants and needs.

Say you need a mechanic while on a trip, options are delivered instantly, ratings and rates displayed, including someone who can do what you need even on Sunday; and you can pay directly from your “network” account to theirs rather than worrying about them accepting credit or debit cards. Warranty and other details are added to your personal records. You’ll take a few seconds at some point to rate your experience. Even though you may never need the same provider again, your transaction information will help determine their rating, and therefore their future earning power.

This system can be applied to nearly any industry, from publishing, to music, to local services and beyond.
